A new association has been formed to represent the interests of flatbread manufacturers as the food gains in popularity, the industry news site Bake reported.
The International Flatbread Federation was officially announced Sept. 9 during the International Baking Industry Exposition in Las Vegas. The new group will operate in partnership with the Arlington, Va.-based Tortilla Industry Association, with TIA CEO Jim Kabbani also serving as head of IFF.
"Today flatbreads make up the largest total in consumption of bread types worldwide," Kabbani told Bake. "It's a big day for this growing industry segment, and we could not be more pleased to provide both industry professionals and suppliers the support, business tools, and networking opportunities they need to be successful." https://bit.ly/2m9R5Ri
IFF's annual conference will co-locate with the TIA's annual convention starting next year. The new group's website is flatbreads.org.
